Low attendance at Leelanau justifiably warrants reduced hours, due to it's sister Casino, Turtle Creek, in nearby, more widely populated Traverse City. However, the players are not neglected: a large, constantly updated selection of slots, fair amount of table games, and a large section dedicated to "high rollers". The buffet, however, once voted Michigan's best, leaves a lot to be desired. Lots and lots: nowhere near what it used to be. Beware: If you are booking lodging adjacent to the casino, call ahead to confirm days of operation, hours of operation, and availability of breakfast, lunch, or dinner during your stay. I've been perked a few times at Leelanau: never at Turtle Creek. The Sands remains "small enough to know you", although returns are fewer on slots, probably due to less play. If you're going for entertainment, the showroom provides as much a small, quaint environment, as you could expect.
