I have been to this Hotel Casino 4 or 5 times now. It is off the strip but don't let that scare you off. They offer free shuttle service to its sister hotel- the Barbary Coast which is on the strip. The restaurants are good but not fancy. My favorite is the Don Miguel's mexican restaurant. The Courtyard coffee shop offers good and relatively in expensive food. If you just want a quick snack, Terrible Mikes offers good sandwiches and burgers. The rooms are larger than most average hotel rooms in Las Vegas. The rates average from $39 to about $119. The higher rate is the weekend rate, but this is cheaper than many hotels in Las Vegas. Another nice feature is that there is a security guard at the elevators and you need to show your key to get to the elevator. The casion is large enough w/o being intimidating. Mostly smokefree and the minimums tend to be low by Vegas standards. A few $3 blackjack tables, most are $5 minimums, but not many tables with outrageous minimums. Also if you like pai gow poker, they tend to have more tables than many of the other Vegas Hotels. Another nice thing about this hotel is that it has a bowling alley, and a muitiplex movie theater. A very family friendly hotel--it has an arcade plus a child care center called Kids Tyme or something like that. This place gives you a lot for the buck.
