Chalestown Slots are great! I hit a $25,000 jackpot on the $5 Black Tie. In addition, I saw lots of winners on slots of all denominations!

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH MOST OF THE OTHER POSTED COMMENTS. THEIR PAY OFFS ARE LOUSY, EVERY SINCE THEY ADDED TO NEW PARKING GARAGE AND CASINO AREA. WE USED TO HIT QUITE A FEW DECENT JACKPOTS WHEN WE FIRST STARTED GOING, BUT THE LAST 4 OR 5 TIMES WE LAST ABOUT 4 TO 5 HOURS. AM GOING TO TRY ONE MORE TIME THIS FRIDAY, AND IF THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT, THEN IT WILL BE BACK TO THE TROP AT A/C. AT LEAST YOU CAN GET DECENT COMPS THERE.

I used to do well at Charlestown, I went about once a month. I live closer to Mountaineer in the western part of WV. but Charlestown always had significantly larger payouts and slots were much looser and even though the drive was futher it was much more enjoyable. I noticed the last few times I was there that most of the jackpots seemed to be on the new $5.00 slots. The other machines hit few and far between. I'm going down this weekend to give it one last try. Hoping that its better. I know its just not me. The last couple times I spent a couple hours walking around counting the money on other machines and looking for jackpots. But didn't see near as many as I used to at Charlestown.

I agree with most of you. They remodled the joint off our backs. Last weekend the bar reduced the size of a 3 dollar beer from 16 oz to 6 oz after 5:30 pm. The slots have drastically reduced the overall payback from a few years ago and this is totally bullshit!!! I have read comments about Mountaineer and how they are so tight and the people started raising hell with the state boys. The same needs to be done at CT. For me, I'm staying the hell away from CT and going to Delaware. CT must be owned by a bunch of punk-ass mob boys. thank you.

I"ve been going to Charlestown fro quite some time and it is true that they have significantly reduced the payouts. Early on, there would always be a number of non-taxable payouts each night. Now there are very few. There still seem to be a couple of taxable payouts, maybe even more than before. I believe this is just a marketing ploy (ie. see how many jackpot winners we have). Overall, it is quite apparent that they are operating as a casino who trades on the fact that they have the "only game in town". As for the patron who always breaks even; impossible!

It would be impossible for everyone to break even eveytime they went, or the casino would be out of business. I go every couple weeks, it is true there are several winners, but there are many more losers, and since opening the new building the slots seem much tighter than they used to be. But compared to others I have been to this one is no worse.

I don't know what you all are talking about. i see plenty of winners at CT and my husband and I always atleast break even. Maybe you need a rabbit's foot! :)

I have gone to Charles Town for slots on a Friday and Sat. back to back and noticed after 5 hours each day the slots do not pay out for anyone. Why doesn,t the gameing comissioner make the place pay better? Or maybe someone is being payoff the newspapers should report it. For ex. play 200.00 in any given slot machine and get nothing

I go to this casino about once a month. I have also noticed that they have tightened the slots during this past fall. Other people there mentioned that they noticed it to. The casino added the parking deck and has done a lot of remodeling, so maybe that is why.

At one time, Charlestown Slots had a decent payback. They have tightened the slots to the point that my husband and I are not going back. Delaware is MUCH better. I f u have money to lose, by all means, go to Charlestown! Good food - races fun!
